10天看Can the test eliminate rabies?
There is indeed a certain basis for the 10-day test

There is a saying that only rabid dogs can spread rabies after biting people. Therefore, as long as the biting dog is observed for 10 days, if it still survives, the possibility of people being infected with rabies can be eliminated. This statement is indeed certain, but it is still not recommended in China.

In fact, to be precise, you should be bitten by a dog that carries rabies virus in its saliva, so you need to get a rabies vaccine. The presence of rabies virus in saliva proves that the dog's rabies has occurred. Dogs with this disease will generally show obvious symptoms of rabies (change in nature, biting, dirty hair, etc.), which cannot be diagnosed by simple means. Of course, it does not rule out that a small number of dogs behave normally when biting people, but they have already developed the disease. Since the mortality rate of human rabies is 100%, our country requires that no matter how the biting dog behaves, as long as he is bitten by a dog, he should go to the hospital for vaccination.

Normally, rabies vaccine requires 5 doses within 28 days, and the cost and time cost are relatively high. Therefore, the World Health Organization recommends a 10-day investigation method - if the biting dog does not die after 10 days of observation, it can be considered that the dog's saliva does not contain viruses when it bites people, and the bitten person can continue to receive rabies vaccinations. This investigation method has two uses:

1. It is better to avoid 2 doses of vaccine, which is cheaper and saves time

2. There is no rabies virus in dog saliva, so the bitten person can put aside the heavy mental burden.

Can the 10-day test eliminate rabies?
For the sake of safety, if you are bitten and bleeding, you should still get the rabies vaccine as soon as possible

The 10-day inspection method has been tested and proven to be effective in all countries around the world, including India and Thailand, where rabies is much more serious than in Bill. However, it is not recommended in China. The reasons may be:

1. Dogs in China are physically different from dogs in other countries and are not comparable, which means that they are dogs with Chinese characteristics.

2. Healthy workers in China may not understand the correct method of the 10-day inspection method

Since they are going to get injections. For rabies vaccines, some people may be confused about whether to choose imported vaccines or domestic vaccines. In fact, we don’t need to worry too much about this issue. In terms of rabies vaccines, domestic vaccines are basically on par with international mainstream vaccines, or even better. The quality is better than some imported vaccines. For example, after the release of the 2010 version of the Pharmacopoeia, a certain technical indicator of the rabies vaccine was much higher than that of the 2005 version of the Pharmacopoeia. A well-known imported rabies vaccine was temporarily rejected because it could not meet the new quality standards of Darfur. Except in the country; a domestically produced rabies vaccine can easily meet the new quality standards and become mainstream in the market.

So as long as it is a regular hospital, we basically don’t need to be too cautious. Worry about the quality of rabies vaccine. Don’t think that the quality of domestically produced vaccines is necessarily inferior, and then choose imported vaccines. Many other owners will ask under what circumstances they need to be vaccinated. Generally speaking, if the dog is infected. If the dog's teeth have scratched a little skin and there are no signs of bleeding, we can do the cleaning and disinfection ourselves without vaccination. However, if bleeding has occurred, it is better to get vaccinated for the sake of safety.
